To these four young men God gave knowledge and understanding of all kinds of literature and learning. And Daniel could understand visions and dreams of all kinds. – Daniel
As I drifted off to sleep I asked God to give me understanding of all visions and dreams just as He had given Daniel. And then of course the nights dreams were very eventful. There was an interesting cast of characters. My brother Jim, Will Geer (Grandpa Walton), and in a different setting some old friends we've not seen for a few years and the husband is now back at Disney with my husband. There was fire and snow. Fire is purifying and it had to do with my brother Jim, so that one is easy, I've been slacking on the prayers for him, so of course that's just what I did this morning. The snow is a little tricky and I know that water in the bible always symbolizes the soul, and so I'm thinking that maybe this is a hardened soul? I woke up repeating this passage from Psalm 46 as if I were in some Shakespeare play, "Hide not thy face far from me; put not thy servant away in anger: thou hast been my help; leave me not, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation".
Is God purifying me and thawing my soul? Am I being shown this in my dreams, it does feel as if my soul is warming. Am I to give this back to the others in my dream in my prayers? So today I ask God again for the same gifts He gave to Daniel. I'm re-reading the chapter on Daniel in Emmet Fox' book, Power Through Constructive Thinking.
