Crazy Scary...

We had our carpets cleaned the other day by Steam Master, which is a father and son business and they've been coming to our home for about five years and over those years we've usually held a 20 minute conversation about dogs when they first arrive. They too, being dog lovers have talked about their pups and I sometimes feel like I know them. They told me that both their older lab and their young mix breed passed away from the same form of cancer (spleen) within a few months of each other after having had Terminex spray under their home for termites. They didn't put two and two together until the same thing happened down the street to their neighbors dog six months later, also after Terminex had sprayed. Same cancer (spleen). YIKES!! They live in Simi and apparently termites are rampant. This is why it's so important to pray the psalms. 91 specifically: Safety of Abiding in the Presence of God. He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the Most High, thy habitation; there shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. For he shall give his angels charge over thee, Mt. 4.6 · Lk. 4.10 to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. Mt. 4.6 · Lk. 4.11 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet. Lk. 10.19 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him, and show him my salvation. The key phrase being "but it shall not come nigh thee." Or as my dear friend Shellie says, "can't touch this" and then plays some MC Hammer in her head!! I've actually started hearing that song as well whenever something scary disturbs me and it just goes away, because I'm reminded that I'm taken care of and so are my loved ones and you can't help but laugh hearing that song and picturing those pants!! And laughter is the quickest way to get relief from fear, so thank you for that one, Shel:) Shellie and I had a conversation about how bad stuff is all around us, but those who pray really do seem to avoid the mass tragedies. Pray it forward. Don't wait until you're in trouble, keep a steady stream of prayer surrounding you, your family, you cars, your home, the planet. Transformation is taking place. Protection will be granted if you ask and give thanks that it's already established and maintained in your world.
